My Areas of Expertise

Access to work with deaf professionals

I work to facilitate communication in all areas of work life- during job interviews, training, meetings and other interactions deaf people have in their workplaces. Often this work can be funded through Access to Work. Access to Work is a government scheme that can help you get into or stay in work if you have a physical or mental health condition or disability. It can be used to fund communication support in the workplace.

International Sign & Relay

Having spent a lot of time travelling and meeting deaf communities around the world, because of these experiences, I am often able to communicate in international sign with the deaf people I meet. I love working with deaf relay translators as their interpreter for working in to International Sign or with deaf people with these specific sign language needs. I have also travelled internationally to work in these settings and am continuing to grow in this area.

HEalthcare & Community

I have experience interpreting across various medical contexts, including routine appointments, surgery, Accident and Emergency, and end-of-life care. I am committed to providing clear communication between patient and medical practitioners.

I also undertake a wide variety of community based assignments such as social care, education, and retail.

Television, Theatre and MEdia

Before discovering interpreting, I thoroughly enjoyed studying the arts. I studied Media and Theatre Studies to A-level and also danced competitively and performed with a team. Despite falling in love with interpreting, I still enjoy using what I learned and transferring those skills to interpreting in rehearsal rooms, auditions, film, festivals, radio, television and performance. I have undertaken additional training in this area and continue to develop this skill.

Business, Finance and Conference

Prior to registering as an interpreter, I worked as a personal assistant to The CEO of a Deaf Charity. I am adept at facilitating communication in everything from strategy and finance to networking and board meetings, ensuring that all participants, can fully engage in discussions and decision-making processes.

I have been interpreting in conferences of all sizes for a number of years and enjoy the challenge of this broad and varied domain. I particularly enjoy working as part of a team of interpreters in conferences.

funerals, Weddings & life events

I offer sensitive and empathetic interpreting services for funerals, ensuring that deaf individuals can participate fully in memorial ceremonies, cherish memories and share stories about their loved ones. I am passionate about ensuring deaf people can access this vital part of the grieving process.
